Viola keeps a private collection of trinkets and, once she joins the party, will trade them for Dominator Crystals, the oil that the Heggie creature leaves behind (see Currencies). Her list is short: six trophies that you can buy exactly once, and four consumables that she only sells in New Game Plus. Viola is the only merchant that takes Dominator Crystals. The game's tutorial "Viola's collections" tells you to bring them. See Merchants for the common shop rules.
Where to trade#
Viola's trade menu is the same in the Carriage and in Karst Cave. Her Carriage placement (monster 99002) is shown from quest 25035 and hidden once quest 63018 is complete; her Karst Cave placement (monster 7075) is shown once quest 73002 is complete, the end of the cutscene after the Usurper's defeat (ES_StoryMovie 88 completes it; the quest comment reads "boss defeat cutscene finished"). Her stock list is 1902 in both places, so there is only one set of stock counters.
The Contract#
In the Carriage dialog, the Contract option appears after Viola's first conversation (quest 75055). Each Contract hands over one Broken Slate (item 10046, see Key items; the game removes one per Contract). Contracts 1 to 3 complete the quests 75056, 75057 and 75058 and are one-way: they cannot be repeated. There are exactly three Broken Slates in the story: one in Exilium, one in Edith and one in Katib (story-item rows 3002, 4027 and 5023). Each Contract adds items to her shop and plays a short conversation about a lost civilisation (the text mentions the Samarosa).
Stock#
All six trophies are NotReset, so each one is a once-per-save purchase: they are not offered again in a later New Game Plus journey. Viola always sells the base (+0) version of a trophy, whatever the journey. The four consumable rows are NotReset 0 and only exist from journey 2.

What the trophies do (see Trophy list for full numbers): Brass Ring of Handel gives Attack and critical bonuses plus a Defence boost at half health or below; Fanatical Sand gives Attack and Critical Damage plus an Attack boost at half health or below; Figurine of Sorrowful Nun gives resistance to all four damage groups plus an Attack boost at half health or below; The Rose adds Health and Defence plus a Defence boost at half health or below; Shimmering Shard and Brooch with Sacred Pattern raise damage against Humanoids, Beasts and Sendril at the price of some self-damage each time you attack (the Brooch also adds Critical Rate).
Hidden mechanics#
- Prices are fixed. Brass Ring of Handel costs 4 and Figurine of Sorrowful Nun 5 from the start; Contract 1 adds Shimmering Shard (6) and The Rose (10), Contract 2 Fanatical Sand (15) and Contract 3 Brooch with Sacred Pattern (20): 60 Dominator Crystals for the whole set. They do not scale with New Game Plus.
- One purchase per save. Because
NotResetis 1, a trophy bought in journey 1 stays sold out in journey 2. If you want a second copy you cannot buy it. - The consumable block is a New Game Plus gift. In journey 1 the four rows have item 0 and price 0, so they are skipped (
GetOnSellItemVirtualListignores rows with item id 0). From journey 2 Viola sells Starry Honey Wine (8), Ancient Silver Key (7), Shriveled Holy Fruit (5) and Fully Recovery Potion (6), five of each. They do not restock during a journey, but they reset when the next journey starts. Starry Honey Wine resets your attributes (Key items#hm-starry-honey-wine-is-an-attribute-reset-it); here it costs Dominator Crystals instead of the Big Bone the chapter stalls ask for. - No returns. Viola's own six trophies have no sell price (
Price-1), so the sell tab will not take them back. The sell tab itself buys other fixed-stat trophies, but pays in Bone Fragments, never Dominator Crystals (see Merchants).
