Pascal's Wager Wiki

The Colossal Grave (Chapter 8) is the last region of the base game. It has no carriage stops, no altar quests and no Arcade copy: the whole chapter is one area built around crows, Light Motes and a final confrontation with The First Messenger.

See Maps#The regions for all regions and Chapters#The Colossal Grave (chapter 8) for this chapter's story.

Sub-areas and carriage stops#

One area. The site list has no entries for stops, so the map shows only the main marker.

Map entry: The Colossal Grave (site 800). In-game blurb: the map entry has no description text.

The scene itself contains 3 carriage point(s): point 1 (area 1, direction 2); point 2 (area 1, direction 2); point 3 (area 1, direction 1).

Altars#

No altar rows exist for this chapter.

Enemies#

Placement rows of the story table (Maps#hm-content-per-chapter-count-of-placements-in-the). Levels are the range over the rows for each journey (New Game Plus enemy scaling); each type has its own page under Enemies.

Hidden mechanics#

  • Almost no ordinary enemies. Besides the boss, the table holds only 10 ordinary enemy rows (two stags, two crows and one each of six other models) next to 16 NPC, cutscene and scenery rows (three hero cameos, three cutscene copies of the First Messenger, Viola's mother and nine Light Motes).
  • Highest levels of the base game. The few ordinary rows are level 21 in journey 1 and 90 in journey 4, the boss is level 25, and the crows are only level 1 to 30 across the loops.
  • No Dark Mist walls here. Rebounding black-fog walls exist only in chapters 1 to 5 (World mechanics#Walls).

New Game Plus and Arcade#

Enemy level range by journey over all placements, bosses included: journey 1 1-25, journey 2 1-50, journey 3 1-70, journey 4 1-90. The ordinary rows stop at 21, 45, 70 and 90; the boss rows are 25, 50, 70 and 90. The journey value is capped at 4 (BattleData.GameLoopMax = 4; see Maps#hm-enemy-levels-scale-by-journey-not-by-region).

This region has no Arcade copy. See New Game Plus for loop rules.
